“After battling breast cancer and going through numerous surgeries, the last thing I wanted to do was go under the knife again. But when Dr. Fox found a benign tumor on my ovary, because of my cancer history, he recommended a hysterectomy. The first thing that came to my mind is that I would be left in a considerable amount of pain because of a huge incision and out of work for six to eight weeks. In the days leading to my surgery, I did a lot of research on the Internet and had many detailed and enlightening conversations with Dr. Fox and his staff about the robotic method for a hysterectomy. Once Dr Fox confirmed that the robotic method was appropriate for my situation, I was ready to go.
Dr. Fox and his staff were caring, compassionate and organized. The surgery went so fast that my husband swears I was only under for 30 minutes! The best part is that I only had to take painkillers the day of the surgery and had absolutely no complications whatsoever. I have four tiny scars, one of which is in my bellybutton and not visible even to me. The first few days following the surgery, I simply rested. After one week I could have gone back to work, but I honored Dr. Fox’s advice and stayed home for another week giving my self more time to fully recover. I was not housebound though and while I continued not to lift anything heavy, I got a lot done around the house and even took in a movie or two!
Week three I went back to work, 6+ hours per day. I’m almost four weeks post-operative now and looking back, I cannot think of a better experience in terms of a surgery, hospital stay, a physician’s care and my after-recovery. I would recommend the robotic hysterectomy to anyone with my same initial concerns and I would wish everyone to be under the wonderful care of Dr Fox.” Patricia, Robotic Hysterectomy Patient

“When Dr. Fox found a fibroid tumor overtaking my uterus, he recommended a hysterectomy because of the vast size of the growth. Once I made the decision to move forward with the surgery, we discussed my options and chose the robotic hysterectomy using the da Vinci surgical system. When I was wheeled into the operating room, I was in awe of the robotic equipment in front of me and how impressive the system looked. I was nervous—as anyone would be when they are about to go into surgery—but I had done my research on the technology and had assurance in Dr. Fox through our many conversations and this all made me feel at ease.
The recovery process using the robotic technique is night and day compared to general hysterectomy surgery. I stayed home for a week even though I was ready to return back to work in a matter of days. There were zero complications, minimal scarring and absolutely no side-effects. The da Vinci system is a true amazement and in my opinion the wave of the future in hysterectomy surgery. I can’t thank Dr. Fox enough for making the entire hysterectomy experience a seamless and stress-free one for me and my family.” Connie, Robotic Hysterectomy Patient

“For two years I lived with a condition that was uncomfortable and at times, frightening. The problem I experienced on a daily basis occurred when I had bowel movements. What should have been a normal, every day bodily function for anyone—created stress and anxiety for me because each time I attempted to take a bowel movement it felt as if my internal organs were coming out—and in most cases, they were.
I’m 74 years old and at the time was only seeing an internist who was not able to accurately diagnose the condition. He referred me to Dr. Murray Fox and upon my first visit, Dr. Fox was accurately able to diagnose my condition right off the bat. I was suffering from a condition known as pelvic floor dysfunction characterized by a rectocele. With a simple surgical process—known as posterior colporraphy repair—my organs were secured using mesh that was placed internally. After the surgery, I was nervous when I knew I was going to have my first post-op bowel movement, but my anxieties were immediately erased. I no longer had the symptoms associated with this condition and felt as normal as I had in years past.
Dr. Fox is a skilled surgeon. He was very informative and confident and I can’t say enough about how this procedure has changed my life and made me feel normal again. Ironically, so many of my friends have told me they are experiencing the same symptoms. Certain conditions like pelvic floor dysfunction are hard for women to talk about; but knowing that there are treatments available makes the discussion so worthwhile. I will not hesitate for a second to refer them to Dr. Murray Fox.” Jean, Posterior Colporraphy Repair (for Pelvic Floor Dysfunction) Patient

“After several years of experiencing inconsistent, crampy and long periods—coupled with abnormal and inconclusive pap smears, I was ready to throw the towel in and opted for a hysterectomy. Dr. Fox recommended the robotic hysterectomy technique and after doing my own research on the technology and hearing my friends rave about the procedure, I knew it was for me. Not only was the surgery a breeze, but the post-op recovery was trouble-free and brought with it minimal pain and scarring. I had my gallbladder taken out years prior and the scarring left from that surgery is night and day from the one that was used to take out my entire uterus. It is a beautiful thing that technology has allowed this surgery to place and the result as if it has never happened. I’ve been going to Dr. Fox for more than 30 years and I cannot thank him enough for such superb care, treatment and attention. Thank you Dr. Fox!” Sharon, Long-Time Patient, Robotic Hysterectomy Patient

“I suffered from uterine fibroids for several years. Over time these growths became larger causing my uterus to grow to a large size while creating a great deal of discomfort for me. My primary care physician referred me to Dr. Murray Fox in Plano, TX and Dr. Fox recommended an abdominal hysterectomy. Because of the size of my uterus and the extent of these growths, arthroscopic and robotic techniques were not possible. Dr. Fox explained the entire process to me, what to expect during and after surgery and what milestones I would experience post-op. I have to say that his surgical technique is beyond excellent. I’m on my 4th week post-op and my incision has healed beautifully. I feel great. Dr. Fox is one of the most skilled, patient and attentive doctors that I have had the pleasure of visiting in a very long time. I would recommend him to anyone facing the same surgical circumstances.” May, Abdominal Hysterectomy Patient

“At the age of 42, I was suffering from extremely heavy and long periods. I finally confided in Dr. Fox at my annual appointment and he was fast and accurate to diagnose this condition that I had been living with for quite some time. It turns out that I had a uterine fibroid cyst—just one—but it was growing pretty fast and at the time of my exam it was the size of a grapefruit. Dr. Fox went over all of my options with me. I still wanted to have children, so a myomectomy (the surgical removal of a fibroid) was recommended. I did the surgery robotically and today, I have no symptoms, shorter and manageable periods and much lighter bleeding. Dr. Fox went above and beyond during this process. He explained everything thoroughly and knew exactly what he was talking about. He has been monitoring me and every step of the way I feel reassured and without doubt that he has my health and best interest at heart. Thank you Dr. Fox!” Deb, Robotic Myomectomy Patient
